Travelling is not really sustainable. And yet it is more important than ever – because it connects us with our friends and lets us make new ones. Travelling also connects us with nature and teaches us respect for its wonders. IMPACKT is a new brand that can build on the travelite brand’s many years of experience and network. IMPACKT was founded to focus specifically to enable “more sustainable travel” in the luggage industry.  

We are convinced that more environmental awareness, fair prices, very good quality and high design standards are compatible. That’s why, with IMPACKT, we have developed the first designer luggage that makes more sustainable travel affordable – for everyone who wants to live more sustainably and still feel the joy of travelling.

... OUR CASES CANNOT SAVE THE WORLD.

We are fully aware that our suitcases alone cannot save the world. Yes, our suitcases are made of a large proportion of post-consumer recycled plastic, have a transparent supply chain and are easy to repair. And of course we measure our carbon footprint. But we deliberately chose the name IMPACKT as together we can make a much greater contribution. Where it really counts. SUSTAINABLE DESIGN LANGUAGE.

We wanted to make IMPACKT suitcases stand out from the crowd. We have therefore chosen a very distinctive and special design for our first suitcase series IP1. It is based on an existing, tried-and-tested design from our archives, which we have consistently improved and added new features to. Together with our long-standing material and manufacturing partners from the travelite family, we have then, especially and exclusively for IP1, developed the perfect blend of recycled and new materials. All of this makes IMPACKT’s IP1 extremely strong, but also as environmentally friendly as currently possible.

STRESS TEST FOR MORE RELAXED TRAVEL.

IMPACKT suitcases have to withstand a lot of stress during the development phase before they even make it to mass production. In our development and quality control process, luggage wheels must survive travelling 30 to 50 km over different types of surfaces, with the cases fully packed. Handles must withstand being lifted vigorously up to 5,000 times, whereas pulling handles must withstand being pulled out and pushed back in a minimum of 2,800 times. To test shell resistance, fully packed IMPACKT cases must survive several free falls from a height of 1.2m, onto each corner, each wheel and all four wheels together. These tests are repeated on a random basis with mass production goods, too. This ensures a continuously high process stability and quality.

IMPACKT has plenty of stamina, which we do guarantee for 6 years. If something does happen, IP1 has been designed with a focus on facilitating easy exchange of those components under a lot of stress. Our service department keeps those spare parts in stock. After all, a suitcase is only sustainable if it travels with you for as long as possible.
